Congratulations David!

It’s looking a bit black over Bill’s mother’s is brilliant. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone who’s interested in nature and how she’s manifesting in our locality.

After getting hooked on Jennie’s Spine Race and knowing Jasmin was her hero, I followed this crazy race! What a result and what a photo! Says it all.

Thanks Lynn, and thanks Jacob for the wonderful photos! I’ll be asking Jennie what she makes of the news!

Well done on the 200 subscribers. Great read as usual, lots of positive news. Delighted Nicola got her tree planted after the local councillor tried to stop it. And credit to Amey for deciding to fund all the suitable tree warden entries in their new competition because it means that lots more wards have got a new tree which would have cost several hundred pounds each. On top of which they are making it an annual tree warden event. So hats off to Amey for that, they didn't have to do any of it but it has added another interesting dimension to being a tree warden.

Thanks Bridget! The trees for wardens is a great idea I think, and I’m aiming to follow up on this year’s Street Tree Partnership planting in a post soon.

I'm a big fan of more street trees - but I am noticing a slightly disapointing pattern where a number of the new partnership trees seem to have been planted on relatively narrow pavements, where they're now taking the sort of the space we'd complain about if it was a car parked like that.

Personally I'd have liked to have seen them planted on the edge road to take over a parking space, but I imagine that would have come with it's own set of problems!

Hi David

The Sheffield Triathlon Club (https://www.sheffieldtriclub.com/) has a few upcoming events we're hoping you'd be able to mention for us in your What's On section.

On April 14th we've got an Aquathlon at Westfield School. That's a 400m Pool Swim followed immediately by a 6km run at Rother Valley - £10 entry for non-members

And then I know you normally only feature events that are coming up soon, but our main event of the year is the Hathersage Hilly Triathlon on July 21st - it's the sort of event that people tend to enter earlier and then train up to.

420m Pool Swim, 21km Bike, 6km Run starting at Hathersage Lido - £55 entry

Thanks Glen - I'll include them in my revised listing service coming this week. Keep them coming, folks!
