Supporters Supplement: Open Up Out There
More out there artists from Open Up Sheffield 2026
We’re aiming to cover more of the wonderful landscape artists making their homes in the Outdoor City, once we have a little more time (and full subscribers) to seek them all out in their garrets.
There are artist enclaves in the inner city, Walkley and Nether Edge, but one of our artists featured today told me that the often forgotten edges of the Peak District north west of the city are drawing in painters, sculptors and craftsfolk too. Is Oughtibridge becoming the new Hebden Bridge?
This supporters supplement features a few more pictures and a little more about the practice of three artists featured in the upcoming Open Up Sheffield event, covering over 140 artists spread across the city. The rest of this post is for our wonderful 330+ full supporters, who keep this magazine running for all of us. We need another 45 or so readers to upgrade, for the meagre cost of less than a pint of beer a month to reach our target of 380 full members of our social enterprise.
When we get there, hopefully a bit later this year, we’ll be fully sustainable and fully able to feature the work of a lot more local writers, photographers and artists who love the wild spaces of our city.
