Round at Bill's Mother's - Late December 23
The relaxed rolling news service for full members.
29th December update: the concrete blocks on the Sheaf Valley walking, running and cycling route have now reappeared, soon after local campaign groups and this publication queried why they’d been taken out. Perhaps decision makers have now recognised that disruption is a bad thing for active travel routes as well as car and bus carriageways.
Also: The majority of Bolehill Wood near Woodseats has finally been granted ancient woodland status, which I understand is now likely to make building development there very difficult.
Wardsend Cemetery Heritage Park has been awarded £20,000 from the Northern Powergrid social impact programme, which will involve a big boost for biodiversity and heritage work on site. More on this in the New Year.
